The Online Team Leadership Course equips team leaders, supervisors and managers with the skills they need to successfully develop high performing teams. Participants will learn how to provide effective feedback, use structured coaching processes, address performance issues and be introduced to situational leadership strategies. The three part course includes the following sessions:
The course includes three 90 minute sessions spread over three days within the week the course is offered, typically a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Attendees are asked to complete some brief pre-work activities and then participate in the 90 minute virtual classroom sessions. During each session, the instructor will cover key concepts, engage the attendees in discussing their real world situations and answer any questions that come up.
Upon completion of the three part course, each student will have the option to engage in a private 30-minute coaching session with the instructor to help them apply the material to their real world team environment.
Teams go through predictable stages of team development, and different types of leadership are needed at each stage. We will explore the characteristics of each stage and list the various leadership skills required to help a team progress to the next stage. We will also identify what stage your team is in so you’ll be able to pull from the broad range of leadership capabilities to meet the needs of the team.
Key Concept: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing
We will introduce and apply a strategic/situational leadership theory, which suggests that the leadership approach or style one uses is contingent upon the leader, the employee AND the situation. You will learn how to change your leadership strategy to fit the employee’s capacity and needs.
Key Concept: Instruct, Coach, Relate, Delegate
Participants will learn how to effectively provide feedback to individuals as well as use a structured coaching process to correct performance issues identified with team members.

The online Team Leadership Course is perfect for team leaders, supervisors and even new managers. The course can also provide a refresher for experienced managers leading larger teams.
