Productize Your Services: Design Them for Value and Profitability
Service providers are often disappointed with the results their service offerings deliver. Either they are not selling well or not as profitable as hoped. In many cases, this lack of success is due to insufficient planning prior to launch. In order to avoid the lost service opportunity associated with a “Ready – Fire – Aim” approach, services must be designed with the appropriate value from the start. And, they must be designed to be delivered consistently and profitably. In this session, our guest John Kilian, president of AntFarm Inc. introduced the concept of Service Blueprinting, a proven approach to developing compelling, high demand services. Attendees learned a step-by-step framework for designing services specifically focused on satisfying customer needs and creating a solid foundation for selling the value in your services. Topics included:
• Establishing the business objectives for your services
• Assessing customer needs and the required service outcomes
• Identifying the target market for your services
• Defining the service delivery process – the Service Blueprint

Really nice presentation! Thanks John Kilian for posting this. Just wanted to know which tool you used for creating service blueprints?
Greg Coleman says
Vishal… The tools used to create the blueprints include Visio. You can use mind mapping tools such as Mindjet to mat out the processes and then create the flow diagrams in Visio or other diagramming or blueprinting tools.
